Law Intra-Department Cricket Tournament 2026 Concludes Successfully at WUB

The Department of Law, World University of Bangladesh (WUB) successfully concluded its much-anticipated Law Intra-Department Cricket Tournament 2026, a four-day sporting event that showcased athletic excellence, teamwork, and departmental unity.

The tournament officially commenced on 26 January 2026 with a Trophy Unveiling Ceremony, symbolizing commitment, sportsmanship, and the collective aspirations of the department’s future legal professionals. Following the ceremony, the competition progressed through exciting group-stage matches and culminated in thrilling Semi-Final and Final matches on 29 January 2026, drawing enthusiastic participation and support from students and faculty members alike.

The event was precisely organized under the leadership of Md. Fahmedul Islam Dewan, Lecturer, Department of Law and Member Secretary of the Sports Committee, who served as the sole executor of the tournament. Through his dedicated planning, coordination, and execution—alongside the managing committee and student volunteers- the tournament was conducted smoothly and professionally. Continuous guidance from Dr. Mohiuddin Md. Al-Amin, Head of the Department of Law, further ensured the event’s success and maintained a high standard throughout all phases of the tournament.

In addition to competitive cricket matches, the tournament emphasized inclusivity in sports by arranging engaging sports activities for female students, encouraging participation, wellness, and equality. The event concluded with a Closing Ceremony and Gala Lunch, providing an opportunity for celebration, reflection, and strengthened camaraderie among students and faculty members.

The tournament was honored by the presence of the Honorable Pro Vice-Chancellor, along with representatives from the Registrar Office and the Controller of Examinations, whose attendance added prestige and encouragement to the program.

The Department of Law, WUB, remains committed to the holistic development of its students by balancing academic excellence with meaningful extracurricular activities that foster leadership, discipline, teamwork, and professional integrity.
