Biography
Md. Fahmedul Islam Dewan is an alumnus of the DLA Piper Global Scholarship Programme (GSP) and a Cohort-03 Fellow Scholar (2020-2022). He was one of the global recipients of the DLA Piper GSP Award 2020, an honor that recognizes exceptional academic merit and leadership potential. He completed both his LL.B. (Magna Cum Laude) and LL.M. in International Commercial Law at North South University (NSU). During his academic tenure, he held the distinguished position of General Secretary of the NSU Law & Mooting Society (NSULMS), reflecting his commitment to academic excellence, leadership, and advocacy.
In 2022, he completed a one-month internship with DLA Piper, London (Tax Department), followed by leadership training at the Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, sponsored by DLA Piper. His international exposure also includes virtual internships under DLA Piper Africa and the DLA Piper GSP Virtual Internship initiative.

Md. Fahmedul Islam Dewan is actively involved in multiple academic and co-curricular committees within the Faculty of Law, contributing to the university’s academic excellence, quality assurance, and student development.Â

- Member Law Magazine & Newsletter: Oversees the editorial process, publication quality, and thematic direction of the faculty’s academic magazine and newsletter.

Md. Fahmedul Islam Dewan is an emerging legal scholar with an expanding portfolio of peer-reviewed publications, academic essays, and editorial contributions. He has authored three peer-reviewed journal articles, with several additional manuscripts currently under review in international journals. Alongside his academic research, he has published over 50 opinion pieces in national newspapers and law magazines, reflecting his engagement with pressing socio-legal and human rights issues.
