Short Biography:
Md. Fahmedul Islam Dewan is a DLA Piper Global Scholarship Programme (GSP) alumni and Cohort-03 Fellow Scholar during the 2020–22 session. He won the prestigious DLA Piper GSP award for 2020 all around the world. Currently, he serves as a lecturer in law at the World University of Bangladesh and also involved in the BAC committee. And he was involved in the DLA Piper GSP mentoring project, serving as a mentor. His journey in the legal field began at North South University, where he held the prestigious position of General Secretary of the North South University Law & Mooting Society. And completed his LL.B. with Magna Cum Laude Distinction. Fahmedul's pursuit led him to complete his LL.B and an LL.M in International Commercial Law with the valuable support of the GSP. He has one-month internship experience at the DLA Piper London office in the summer of 2022, followed by Leadership training at the Said Business School, University of Oxford, sponsored by DLA Piper.In addition to his international exposure, Fahmedul gained a wealth of experience through virtual internships conducted by DLA Piper Africa and the DLA Piper Global Scholarship Programme Virtual Internship. He also contributed to the academic community by serving as a Teaching Assistant in the Department of Law at North South University and working as a Research Assistant for Dr. Md. Rizwanul Islam.He publish op-eds in daily newspapers. His ultimate aspiration is to leverage his extensive educational knowledge, creativity, experiences, and skills to build a successful career in the legal profession. As an academic lawyer, he is driven to use the law as a tool to make the world a better place by ensuring its just and equitable enforcement.
